Kevin O’Brien bats his team to a victory against Hawksbills - In the 8th match of the tournament Antigua Hawksbills and Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel came face to face against each other. The Hawksbills previously have lost all the three matches in the tournament while Red Steels came back after losing a close match against the Amazon Warriors in the super over. That was their 1st loss in the tournament. After winning the toss the Red Steel’s decided to field first. The Hawksbills lost first two wickets in the first 6 overs of the game. The dangerous Danza Hyatt and Marlon Samuels were back in the pavilion when the team was on 46. The Red steel struck again taking the 3rd wicket in the form of Ben Dunk, he managed to score 26 runs in the game. Devon Thomas and David Hussey played the most important role in the game. They together slowly brought their team back in the game. Both the players scored 38 and 30 runs respectively. They left their team in the 18th over at a score of 119 runs. Sheldon Cottrell and Rahkem Cornwall scored some quick runs in the end overs to take their team to score of 151 runs. Kevon Cooper managed to take 3 wickets in the game.

The Red steel’s lost their first wicket pretty early in the 2nd over of the innings. Kevin O’Brien the Ireland international player and Ross Taylor the Kiwi superstar took control of the innings. O’Brien played some outstanding cricketing shots and played a magnificent innings of 90 runs in just 49 balls. Ross Taylor on the other hand played a supporting role as he scored 51 runs in just 46 balls. They together took their team cross their line in just 17.1 over. Kevin O’Brien won the man of the match award for his batting. With this win the Red Steel won their 2nd match and the Hawksbills lost their 4th match in a row.
