Martin Guptill gave speedy start to the team and made 34 runs in 23 balls. D Conway again showed his class in this match and played not out inning of 65 runs in 37 balls. Glenn Phillips came to bat at number 4 position for host and made an unbelievable century. He scored 108 runs in just 51 balls. Glenn Phillips smashed 8 huge sixes in his inning. D Conway and Glenn Phillips made record partnership of 184 runs for 3rd wicket. New Zealand made 238 runs in their 20 overs. It was a big chase for West Indies. The visitors failed to bat in a pressure situation and made only 166 runs in 2nd inning. Kieron Pollard scored most 28 runs. New Zealand won the match by 72 runs and also sealed the series by 2-0. Glenn Phillips was selected as the player of the match for his brilliant ton.
The 3rd or last match of the series was held on November 30, 2020, at Bay Oval. The match was abandoned by bad weather, and the series ended as 2-0 to host. Lockie Ferguson was selected as the player of the series.
