Yusuf Pathan and Ryan ten Doeschate led Kolkata Knight Riders to a 7 wickets victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Darren Sammy (C) the new SRH skipper in place of Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to bat first. The people of Hyderabad experienced a tight match between these two teams but KKR played their part beautifully to get their 4th consecutive win in the tournament.

Early in the first innings Aaron Finch and Shikhar Dhawan opened the batting for SRH but yet again they failed to make any strong opening partnership as Finch went to pavilion by just scoring 8 runs and Shikhar Dhawan (19 of 14 balls) thrown away his wicket with a silly shot against Sunil Narine. But after that when David Warner and Naman Ojha (W) just started to make a steady partnership between them SRH lost the third wicket of Naman Ojha (W) (22 runs of 24 balls). Anyway, David Warner produced some quick fire for Hyderabad as he scored 34 runs of just 18 balls. But after that any of the batsman of Sunrisers failed to carry away the innings of their side as Hyderabad only managed to put up 142 runs on their board by losing 8 wickets.

KKR bowlers yet again gave a complete team performance to restrict SRH to such a low score. Umesh Yadav claimed 3 wickets in the match with the economy rate of 6.50. Shakib Al Hasan (3-22-2) and Sunil Narine (4-21-1) also supported him well with the ball. Piyush Chawla also claimed 1 wicket in the match and conceded 24 runs.

While chasing 143 runs KKR lost their most important wicket of Gautam Gambhir (C) by creating some controversy as he completely missed the ball of Dale Steyn but umpire gave him out by showing the cause of caught behind. However, Robin Uthappa (W) played a decent knock of 40 runs in 33 balls with some remarkable shots. Manish Pandey also scored 35 valuable runs in 32 balls. Anyway, after that Yusuf Pathan (39 of 28 balls) and Ryan ten Doeschate (25 runs of 15 balls) kept their calm and made a match winning partnership to make the spot more strong in the points table for their side as KKR is in the 4th position with 12 points. Well, the KKR fans should be happy because after Gambhir now Yusuf Pathan got back some sort of his form.

Karn Sharma and Dale Steyn shared two wickets equally against Kolkata but Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to deliver the performance of his class in the match as he conceded 37 runs by just bowling 3.4 overs.

Umesh Yadav was given the Man of the Match award for his amazing performance with the ball.
