CHENNAI SUPER KINGS overpowered SUNRISERS HYDERABAD by five wickets at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah, anyway this was the last match of IPL 7 at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium as the tournament is ready to move for its second leg in India in the next week. So, the two times IPL champion CSK walked out of UAE with a victory as this was the last match for CSK in UAE too. However, SRH won the toss and elected to bat first. Aaron Finch again started the innings steadily for SRH as he scored 44 runs of 45 balls but Shikhar Dhawan (C) (7 of 9 balls) and David Warner (0 of 2 balls) went too early. Anyhow, in the near end of the first innings Darren Sammy (23 of 15 balls) and Karan Sharma (17 of 7 balls) produced some quickfires as SRH was able to put 146 runs on their board.

However, CSK’s skipper M.S.Dhoni shuffled his bowlers very intelligently and they gave a brilliant performance to restrict SRH to 145 runs for five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Among the bowlers of CSK Ben Hilfenhaus and Mohit Sharma shared 4 wickets equally and Dwayne Smith claimed the other one.

In the second innings Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum yet again opened the innings for CSK with a amazing batting display as they scored 66 runs of 46 balls and 40 runs of 33 balls respectively. But Faf du Plessis (0 of 1 ball), Ravindra Jadeja (6 of 9 balls) and Suresh Raina(14 of 10 balls) went early without giving no so good performance. Anyway all these breakthroughs were too late to win the match as MS Dhoni (C) (W) and Mithun Manhas finished the innings for CSK to set up an easy win.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar of SRH yet again gave a brilliant performance as he took 2 wickets with the economy rate of 5.75, the other 3 wickets were claimed by Ishant Sharma (2 wickets) and Karan Sharma (1 wicket).

Well, obviously Dwayne Smith was given the Man of the Match award in this last encounter at Sharjah.
