Barbados Tridents as the name suggests is the team from Barbados in the Caribbean Premiere League. This team in the previous edition of the CPL T20
was sure to make it to the finals of the tournament as they performed brilliantly against the Tallawahs in the semi-finals but it was Andre Russell’s hard hitting that stopped their dream run and the Tridents story ended in the semi-final only. The team is lead by a West Indian all-rounder who is known to hit the ball hard and straight. Kieron Pollard the hard hitting middle order batsmen has performed in almost every field of cricket. He is known for his batting, bowling as well as for the thrilling catches that he takes. He is a power house of the team. Along with him Dwayne Smith and Ravi Rampaul makes the team stronger as far as the players from Caribbean is concerned. The team comprises of some young local talent who can be a surprise to the other teams as on their day these youngsters can perform and take away the match from the oppositions.
Shoaib Malik the Pakistani batsman
is a part of this squad. In the previous edition of the CPL he was the top run getter and this year to his teams hopes for a similar performance. Shakib Al Hassan, one of the best all-rounders that the world has ever seen took away the hearts of people from Caribbean with his splendid bowling performance in 2013. This year too he plays a key role for the Tridents. His presence gives the much required X-factor to the team. Along with them Imran Nazir and Neil McKenzie are part of the team and can contribute well for the cause. This team looks solid and will be looking for some luck this time around to make it to the finals.
