Tahir’s Bowling Performance Saved the Hope For Africans

South Africans faced the un-experienced Dutch in Chittagong. Having won the toss the Dutch skipper decided to field first. This was the best decision made by the team as they only can win the match by putting the mighty Africans under pressure and this provided that opportunity of putting them under pressure. Jaamil the medium pacer from Netherland took 5 wickets giving away only 19 runs. This splendid bowling performance ensured that the African batting maestros like that of De Villiers, Amla and Duminy do not run away with the score. The Africans ended their innings at 145 with Amla being the highest scorer.

This was a tricky score but looked steep against the bowling line-up of Styen & co. But to everyone’s surprise the opener Myburgh scored a swift 51 off just 28 balls and set his team on course to what could have been the biggest upset. The Middle order collapsed and the run chase was cut short by the bowlers. Imran Tahir made sure that his team does not need to face any embarrassment as he took 4 wickets. The Africans bowled the Dutch out for 139 thus winning the match by 6 runs and Tahir was declared the player of the match. This was one of those few matches where the luck didn’t favour the underdogs else we could have witnessed the biggest upset of the tournament.
